Course Description

This course provides a systematic and thorough introduction to all aspects of project management and its applicability in any chosen tool such as Wrike, Smartsheet and MS Project Software. Projects are an increasingly important aspect of modern business.

Therefore, the course underlines the importance of understanding how these tool can be used pragmatically to automate this process in an organization.

Students will understand the importance of using different tools in Project Management across all avenues of work, from managing a simple to a complex project including how to level resources and capture both cost and schedule progress. They will understand that automating Project Management is critical to most careers if they have got to reduce errors during project time management.

This course will also emphasize other tools that improve the student’s ability to plan, implement and manage projects during their entire life cycle, from scoping the project until its closure, including the methodologies of estimating time and costs for completion and the measurement of progress and performance.


Target Audience

This course is intended for both novice and experienced project managers, managers, schedulers, and other project stake holders who need a detailed understanding of how projects are best planned, executed, monitored and controlled to ensure a successful outcome using Microsoft Project.

Learning Outcomes

  • Upon satisfactory completion of the course, the learner should be able to:
  • Recognize issues in a realistic project scenario.
  • Employ work breakdown structures (WBS) in a project application.
  • Establish dependencies / relationships and project constraints
  • Apply critical path management mechanism in scheduling
  • Demonstrate the use of appropriate network scheduling techniques.
